Ava Pivot

Born in the eighties in Starnberg, Germany, Ava grew up in a well-known artist family surrounded by endless creativity. Strongly influenced by her passions in life, Ava first started out by photographing horses, recalling how she saw a picture from world-famous horse photographer, Jacques Toffi, that moved her so much she decided to pursue photography as a professional career.
I strive to capture and elevate the beautiful and intimate stories my subjects harbour through the lens of my camera, translating this into the universal language of art.
“Having shot with a second-hand film camera in the early stages of my career, in 2011 I took the leap and bought my first Nikon camera, the D700, and shortly after, the D3s. Despite being on a budget, I found both cameras to be terrific, from their excellent image quality to their high ISO performance, and superb autofocus. It was my first time delving deep into the world of digital photography, and I instantly fell in love with Nikon’s cameras.
I’ve found all their equipment to be real power houses, from the D700 right up to the Z 8. Nikon’s new mirrorless Z system has surpassed my expectations and more, with lenses that provide exceptionally sharp image quality, and new features such as the Z 8’s Portrait Impression Balance elevating the content I create.”
